Tom Perez (born Thomas Edward Perez in Buffalo, New York on October 7, 1961) has worked in the Maryland state government before working in President Obama’s Justice Department. He has also served as Labor Secretary. He was elected Chair of Democratic National Committee in Feb. 2017.

Best Known For:
Tom is best known for becoming the first Latino chair of the Democratic National Committee. It took two rounds of voting for Tom to secure his victory over Keith Ellison.

Personal Life:
Tom is married to Ann Marie Staudenmaier and they have three children together.
