Bio:
Steve Scalise (born Stephen Joseph Scalise on October 6, 1965 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is the current United States House of Representatives Majority Whip and a representative from Louisiana’s 1st congressional district. He has served in that position of House Rep. since 2008 and became the Majority Whip in 2014. In 2002, Steve spoke at a convention for the European-American Unity and Rights Organization (EURO), a group founded by KKK Imperial Wizard David Duke and received extreme backlash. He is a Republican. On June 14, 2017, Scalise was shot by James T. Hodgkinson while attending a congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, VA. He is reportedly in stable, but critical condition.

Steve Scalise is well-known as the House of Representatives Majority Whip and one of the victims of the Congressional Baseball Shooting in 2017.

Personal Life:
Steve earned a Bachelor of Science from Louisana State University in Baton Rouge. He married Jennifer Ann Letulle on September 4, 2005 and the couple have two children.

While in Congress, Steve has been very active in energy and technology legislation, serving on the Committee on Energy and Commerce.
