Bio:
Nia Franklin (born Nia Imani Franklin in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1994) is the 2019 winner of Miss America. She was crowned the winner of Miss New York in June 2018, where she represented the five boroughs. She went on to win the Miss America competition on Sept. 9, 2018. Nia is an advocate for quality education and is passionate about the arts and music. She performed an opera solo for the talent competition at Miss America.

Personal Life:
Nia attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and graduated with a master’s degree in music composition. She is a classically trained opera singer.
