Juma was an Amazon jaguar involved in the 2016 Olympic torch ceremony in Brazil. Juma was shot and killed by a soldier shortly after the event on June 20, 2016.

Personal Life:
According to reports, the jaguar escaped from its handlers as it was being placed back in its cage. The animal was tranquilized, but approached a soldier anyway, and was then killed with a single shot. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the jaguar is a nearly threatened species, and has already been wiped out in El Savador and Uruguay.
