Iskra Lawrence (born Sept. 11, 1990 in Worcestershire, England) is an English model. She is considered a “plus-sized” model, but has used the title to set an empowering example for women. Iskra began her modeling career at just 13 years old, but was dropped by her first agency at 15 because her hips were “too big.” She eventually joined JAG, which is where she is signed today, and is a model for Aerie. Iskra is also the managing editor of the website Runway Riot, which gives fashionable options to women who wear larger sizes, and an ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association.
