Gavin Eugene Long (born Gavin Eugene Long in July 17, 1987, on Kansas City, Missouri) was the man responsible for killing three cops and critically injuring three others in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on July 17, 2016, his 29th birthday. He was killed on the scene after being fatally shot by police. Prior to his deadly attack, Gavin reportedly used the pseudonym Cosmo Setepenra online, under which he posted at least one YouTube video about police protests and oppression.

Best Known For:
Gavin is best known as the assassin in the Baton Rouge officer shooting, which left three officers dead.

Personal Life:
It’s unclear whether Gavin was a Baton Rouge resident, but he was a former marine who was honorably discharged in 2010 after achieving the rank of E-5 (sergeant). Before his death, he was a lifestyle guru under the persona Cosmo Setepenra on YouTube.
