Dustin Lance Black (born in Sacramento, California on June 10, 1974) is an Academy Award winning screenwriter. He started out writing short films liek Somtething Close to Heaven, but quickly moved forward. In 2008, he rose to fame when writing the story and screenplay for Pedro, then writing the screenplay for Milk, which earned him both an Academy Award and Writers Guild of America Award for Best Original Screenplay. In 2011, he also wrote J. Edgar.
