Ashley Monroe (born in Knoxville, Tennessee on September 10, 1986) is a country singer. She moved to Nashville at the young age of 13 to pursue music and after a year, she was signed to a publishing deal. In 2006, she recorded her first album, Satisfied. While it didn’t do as well as she thought, she went on to write two huge songs — “Flat on the Floor,” which Carrie Underwood performed and “Heart Like Mine,” which Miranda Lambert performed. She released an EP in 2009, then was signed to Warner Bros and released her second studio album in 2013. Her song “Like a Rose” became an instant hit. In 2014, she performed at the 2014 Country Music Association Awards with Blake Shelton.
