Alison Parker

Bio:
Alison Parker (from just outside Martinsville, Virginia) was a morning reporter for local news station WDBJ7 when she was shot and killed by an unidentified gunman on live television shortly before 6am on Aug. 26, 2015. Alison was working with her “partner,” cameraman Adam Ward, 27, when the horrific shooting occurred. Sadly, Adam was also killed. Alison has been described as a “radiant woman” who loved spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite hobby was white water rafting, and she loved Mexican food.

Best Known For:
Alison was best known for her time as a WDBJ7 reporter in Roanoke, Virginia.

Personal Life:
Alison was dating news anchor Chris Hurst at the time of her death. Chris later revealed on Twitter that they had been dating for 9 months, were “very much in love,” and had recently moved in together before she was killed. After her death, Chris Hurst won the race for the 12th District of Virginia’s House of Delegates.
