Marrying Leo seemed like the easiest way to keep him in the country, but the happiest day of Alli’s life quickly turned into a nightmare she couldn’t escape, as she found herself being beaten mercilessly in Leo’s crappy car mere minutes after saying “I do.” Her family and friends were horrified by her injuries, but rather than admit they were Leo’s doing — which would also require her to come clean about the wedding — she made up a story about getting mugged.
Honestly, Alli’s story line really upsets me. She’s been through so much during her tenure at Degrassi, and it was nice to see her on target for early graduation; but now I’m worried that her infatuation with this French monster could jeopardize her entire future. You’d think Alli, being the strong person that she is, wouldn’t take Leo’s crap, but you never know how you’re going to react until you’re in the situation, I guess.
Zig & Maya: Round 2?
Meanwhile, as a punishment for her recent string of naughty shenanigans, Maya (Olivia Scriven) was banished to the “Rubber Room,” which led to an unexpected reunion with Zig (Ricardo Hoyos). I’m not sure when Zig officially evolved from adorkable buffoon to full-fledged badass, but I think I like him better this way. I’m getting serious old-school Spinner vibes from him, and that’s never a bad thing.
As Tristan (Lyle Lettau) astutely pointed out, Zig clearly still has feelings for Maya, so I wasn’t surprised when he stormed out after she accused him of only becoming a rebel because he wasn’t able to get over her.

The Truth About ‘Dare’
Fans hoping for a full-blown ‘thing’ between Drew (Luke Bilyk) and Clare (Aislinn Paul) were probably a little disappointed by the pair’s interaction this week. Fresh off their fumble-y kiss, Clare made it crystal clear that Drew wasn’t her type, and that she’s still very much in love with Eli (Munro Chambers).
During a little chat with Dallas (Demetrius Joyette), Drew claimed that he didn’t want Clare, but he wanted her to want him. Does anyone else think he’s just covering up how he really feels? I predict we’ll see plenty of ‘Dare’ before the season is up.
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of the Degrassi premiere? Are you heartbroken over Alli’s situation? Do you think Maya should give Zig a second chance? And what’s your stance on the whole ‘Dare’ issue? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.
