Summer Olympics 2021
The 2021 Tokyo Olympics kick off on Friday, July 23 and here’s everything you need to know to watch the highlights from the biggest events.
Tune in to NBC from 6:55 a.m. to 11 a.m. EDT for the first ever live broadcast of an opening ceremony, rebroadcast at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
Olympics Opening Ceremony — Friday, July 23,
NBC will carry primetime coverage at 8 p.m. EDT (5 p.m. PDT) each night. For live streaming, tune in to the streaming service Peacock, NBCOlympics.com and NBC Sports.
How Can I Watch The Olympics?
Gymnastics will begin on July 24th, Tokyo time. Look to watch Simone Biles when the 12 women’s team competition kicks off on Saturday, July 24, 8:30 p.m. EDT; the top eight will compete in the final on Tuesday, July 27, 6:45 a.m. EDT.
When to Watch — Gymnastics
On most days, swimming events happen at 6 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. EDT from July 24 to Aug. 1, 2021. The USA 53-member team includes vets Katie Ledecky and Haley Anderson.
When to Watch — Swimming
Olympic track and field events will happen between July 30 to Aug. 8, 2021, starting with the 1st rounds in the men's 400m hurdles, women's 100m, and mixed 4x400m relay, and ending with the men's and women's 4x400m relays and the men’s/women's marathon.
