Tulsi Gabbard (born on April 12, 1981 in Leloaloa, American Samoa, United States) is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. She was vice-chair of the Democratic National Committee until 2016 when she gave up her position to endorse Bernie Sanders in the presidential election. As a devoted Democrat, she shocked the world by agreeing to meet Donald Trump to discuss joining his administration before the presidential inauguration.

Personal Life:
Tulsi is the first-ever American Samoan and Hindu member to join the United States Congress. Her unique name actually comes from the holy basil, a sacred plant in the Hindu culture. She was married to Eduardo Tamayo from 2002 – 2006.
