Stockard Channing (born Susan Antonia Williams Stockard on February 13, 1944 in New York City, New York) is an American actress. She is widely known for playing Betty Rizzo in the 1978 film Grease. She is recognized for her role as First Lady Abbey Bartley on The West Wing. She originated the role of Ouisa Kittredge in the stage and film adaptations of Six Degrees of Separation. She was nominated for a Tony Award and Oscar for the role. She’s been nominated for a Primetime Emmy 13 times and is a seven-time Tony Award nomineee. She won the Tony Award in 1985 for her role in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. She’s a frequent guest star on The Good Wife.
