Bio:
Samuel L. Jackson (born Samuel Leroy Jackson on December 21, 1948 in Washington, D.C.) is an American actor and film producer. Samuel grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, having only met his father twice during his life. Samuel attended segregated schools, graduating from Riverside High before attending Morehouse College in Atlanta. Initially pursuing a degree in Marine biology, Samuel switched over to acting after joining a local acting group for extra credit. He graduated in 1972 and made his first film appearance in the independent film, Together for Days. He moved to New York City in 1976 and began appearing in stage plays. His early career included roles in films like Coming to America, School Daze and Do The Right Thing. After his drug use got out of hand, Samuel entered rehab in the 1990s. After sobering up, his career took off thanks to Quentin Tarantino, who cast him in films like True Romance and Pulp Fiction. He would return to appear in Quentin’s movies Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight. Jackson’s had noticeable appearances in films Die Hard with A Vengeance, the Star Wars prequels and Snakes On A Plane, to name a few. He has also portrays Nick Fury in many of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.

Personal Life:
Samuel married actress and sports channel producer LaTanya Richardson in 1980. The couple welcomed a daughter, Zoe, in 1982. In 2009, the family started their own charitable organization to help support education. An avid golf fan, Samuel has a clause in his film contracts that allows him to play during film shoots. In 2013, he became vegan.
