Rosie O’Donnell (born Roseann O’Donnell on March 21, 1962 in Commack, New York) is an American actress, comedian and television personality. She began her career as a stand-up comedian, touring clubs from 1979-1984, before eventually getting her big break on Star Search. She began starring on television sitcoms, and in 1992, her movie career took off due to her role in A League Of Their Own. She’s since starred in memorable movies like Sleepless in Seattle and Now And Then. In 1996, Rosie started hosting her daytime talk show The Rosie O’Donnell Show, which won her multiple Emmy Awards. During this time, she became incredibly outspoken regarding her opinion that people who aren’t licensed to own guns shouldn’t be able to. She ended the talk show in 2002, and by 2006, she’d become a co-host on The View. She often provoked debate on the show, mostly arguing with conservative, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, but was unable to agree on a contract and left the show in 2007, only to return years later in 2014, leaving months later in early 2015 for health reasons. Between her stints on The View, she worked as a producer for the Oprah Winfrey Network , and hosted The Rosie Show from 2011-2012. Additionally, Rosie has a magazine, multiple books and is an avid supporter of several different charities.

Personal Life:
Rosie famously came out as a lesbian in 2002, announcing, “I’m a dyke!” while at a charity function. She adopted her first child, Parker, in 1995, and married Kelli Carpenter in Feb. 2004. Together, the women have three children: Chelsea, Blake and Vivienne. In 2007, Kelli moved out of Rosie’s home, but the news didn’t go public until Nov. 2009. One month later, Rosie and her new girlfriend, Tracy Kachtick-Anders, were spotted out in public. They split in Feb. 2011, and just a few months later, Rosie was dating Michelle Rounds. They were engaged by the end of the year and married in June 2012. Rosie and Michelle adopted a daughter, Dakota, but announced their separation in Feb. 2015, filing for divorce at the end of that month. Rosie and Michelle’s divorce was finalized in 2016. In September 2017, Michelle allegedly committed suicide.
