Bio:
Princess Diana (born Diana Frances Spencer on July 1, 1961 in Park House, Sandringham, Norfolk, England) was the first wife of Prince Charles and former Princess of Wales. Diana was born into a family of British nobility, the fourth child of Earl John Spencer. After her parents divorced, Diana stayed with her father and attended the New School at West Health in Kent before attending the Institut Alpin Videmanette in Switzerland. At that time, Diana first met Charles, who was then involved with Diana’s sister, Sarah Spencer. Despite her lineage, Diana worked a number of odd jobs to make money after school. She was a nanny, a preschool assistant and a dance instructor. In 1980, she and Charles began dating and on Feb. 24, 1981, they were engaged. They were married on July 29, 1981. Lady Diana was then named the Princess of Wales. In the late 1980s, Diana’s marriage fell apart due to the age difference and Charles’s affair with Camilla Parker Bowles. They separated in 1992 and finalized the divorce in 1996. After the divorce, Diana reportedly dated heart surgeon Hasnat Khan and Dodi Fayed, the son of an Egyptian billionaire. Dodi, Diana and their driver, Henri Paul, were killed on Aug. 31, 1997, in a car crash in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris, France. She was buried on an island within the grounds of Althorp Park, the Spencer family home.
