Michael Oher (born Michael Jerome Oher May 28, 1986 in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American NFL player. He os currently an offensive lineman for the Carolina Panthers. His life was the inspiration behind Michael Lewis’ 2006 book, The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, and the 2009 movie The Blind Side. During his high school career, Michael was taken in by Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy. They eventually adopted him. He went on to play football for Ole Miss, where he earned numerous All-American honors. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the NFL draft in 2009. He played for the Ravens until 2013. Michael was with the Tennessee Titans for one year in 2014. He is also the author of I Beat The Odds: From Homelessness, to The Blind Side, and Beyond. In 2015, Michael signed a deal with the Carolina Panthers, and made it to his second Super Bowl game, taking place on Feb. 7, 2016.
