Matthew Broderick

Bio:
Matthew Broderick (born March 21, 1962 in New York, New York) is an American actor and singer. His first major role was in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off in 1986, in which he played Ferris Bueller. Matthew went on act in Project X, Glory and The Cable Guy. In the 1990s, he was the adult voice of Simba in The Lion King. Matthew returned to broadway in the 1990s and won a Tony Award for his performance in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and was nominated for a Tony for his performance in The Producers. Matthew reprised his role in the film adaptation of The Producers in 2005.

Personal Life:
In 1987, Matthew was in a car accident in Northern Ireland where he killed two passengers in another car after he swerved into oncoming traffic. He was charged with causing the deaths by dangerous driving, but was convicted on the lesser charge of careless driving and fined $175. Matthew is married to Sarah Jessica Parker, who he met through her brother. The two married on May 19, 1997 in a synagogue on the Lower East Side in New York. They have a son, James, born in October 2002. They also have twin daughters, through surrogacy, who were born in June 2009. The two currently live in Manhattan but spend a lot of time in their holiday home in Ireland.
