James Pickens Jr. (born James Pickens Jr. in Cleveland, Ohio on October 26, 1954) is an American actor who is best known for his starring role as Dr. Richard Webber on the ABC medical drama television series Grey’s Anatomy, and for his supporting role as Deputy Director Alvin Kersh on later seasons of the Fox Network science fiction series The X-Files. He is also a member of the United States Team Roping Championship and competes in roping events across the country.

Personal Life:
James grew up in Cleveland Ohio, and has been married to Gina Taylor, a former member of disco band Musique, since 1984. They have two children together named Carl Tharps and Gavyn Pickens.
