Giada De Laurentiis (born Giada Pamela De Laurentiis, in Rome, Italy, on August 22, 1970) is an Italian-born American chef, writer, and television personality. She is currently the host of Giada at Home on the Food Network. She is also the founder of the catering business GDL Foods. Giada won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lifestyle Host and in 2012 was inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame. In July 2014, she opened her first restaurant, called GIADA, inside the Cromwell in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Giada was married to Todd Thompson, a fashion designer On May 25, 2003. In July 2014, the couple separated and on Dec. 29, 2014, she announced that they had decided to end their marriage. They have a one child together, Jade Marie De Laurentiis-Thompson, who was born on March 29, 2008.
