Bio:
David Bowie (born David Robert Jones in Brixton, London, England on January 8, 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, arranger, painter, and actor. He has been a pop music icon for over 40 years, releasing hits such as “Space Oddity,” “Starman,” and “Fame.” His signature androgynous appearance during the 1970s and 80s became a quintessential element of his image. Throughout his career, David has sold an estimated 100 million records worldwide and in 2004, Rolling Stone ranked him number 39 on their list of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time.” He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. David also has a successful film career in which he’s had roles in Zoolander, The Prestige, and, his most famous film, Labyrinth. Sadly, David died on Jan. 10, 2015 at 69 after a difficult 18-month battle with cancer.

Personal Life:
David Bowie married Mary Angela Barnett (aka Angie Bowie) on March 19, 1970. Their son, Zowie Bowie (now a film director known as Duncan Jones) was born on May 30, 1971. The couple got divorced in Switzerland on February 8, 1980. David is currently married to Somali-American model, Iman, whom he married in 1992. The pair has one daughter together, Alexandria “Lexi” Zahra Jones, who was born in 2000. Throughout David’s career, there have been some questions of his sexuality. He declared himself gay in an interview in 1972 and later, in 1976, announced he was actually bisexual. Seven years later, David recanted, claiming that his public declaration of bisexuality was “the biggest mistake I ever made” and that he “was always a closet heterosexual.”
