Bruce Campbell (born Bruce Lorne Campbell in Royal Oak, Michigan on June 22, 1958) is an American actor, director, and producer. Bruce began his acting career when he was only a teenager, landing major roles in the 1970s franchise, Evil Dead, and Within the Woods. He also starred in the hit TV series, Ash vs. Evil Dead. Bruce’s directing career began in 2002 with Fanalysis and A Community Speaks. He then starred in major box office flicks including Man with the Screaming Brain and My Name Is Bruce, followed by a number of television series. Since 2014, Bruce started the self titled Horror Film Festival held in Illinois. The festival showcases new and old horror films.
Best Known For:
Bruce Campbell is best known for portraying Ash Williams in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead franchise. Bruce reprised his role as Ash in the two sequels, Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness. His role in the franchise has since become iconic and the films are credited as classics under the horror comedy category.
Personal Life:
Bruce Campbell married his first wife in 1983. They had two children together before their divorce in 1989. He currently lives in Oregon with his second wife, costume designer Ida Gearon, whom he met on the set of Mindwarp, a movie he starred in. Bruce is also an ordained minister.
