Bindi Irwin

Bio:
Bindi Irwin (born Bindi Sue Irwin on July 24, 1988 in Buderim, Queensland, Australia) is an Australian actress and television presenter. Bindi is the daughter of Steve Irwin, the late television personality known as The Crocodile Hunter. Bindi began appearing on her father’s television shows when she was just two-years old. Bindi shared her father’s enthusiasm for wildlife, and became the presenter of a 26-part documentary kids show called Bindi the Jungle Girl. The series premiered in June 2007 on Discovery Kids. After her father’s death in 2006, Bindi and her mother announced that they would continue Steve’s conservation and television work. In 2006, at age 8, she was the youngest person to ever appear on the cover of the Australian magazine, New Idea. She hosted the 2007 special, My Daddy the Crocodile Hunter. She also was the star of the child fitness DVD, Bindi Kidfitness. Bindi has appeared on the Nickelodeon Kids’s Choice Awards, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and in the 2010 movie, Free Willy: Escape from Pirate’s Cove. In 2008, Bindi became the youngest performer to ever win a Daytime Emmy Award, winning the honor for Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series.

Personal Life:
Bindi continues to work with conservation organizations. She commits 10% of her wages to Wildlife Warriors, the charity her family founded in 2002. Bindi was homeschooled and said her favorite subject was creative writing, with math being her least favorite. Bindi’s first name comes from her father’s favorite crocodile at the Australia Zoo.
