Ashton Irwin (born Ashton Fletcher Irwin on July 7, 1994 in Hornsby, Australia) is an Australian musician and current drummer/vocalist in the band 5 Seconds of Summer. The band first became popular after they were discovered by Louis Tomlinson, which led the band to open for One Direction during the Take Me Home tour in 2013. Ashton was the last to come aboard, joining fellow bandmates Michael Clifford, Luke Hemmings, and Calum Hood in 2008. Since, he has been credited for co-writing some of their biggest hits such as “She Looks So Perfect” and “She’s Kinda Hot.”
