The Countess. Is. Slaying. Lady Gaga promoted her new role on Oct. 7, but posting a BTS picture of her on the set of ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ — wearing nothing but blood.
The countdown to The Countess is almost done — American Horror Story begins on Oct. 7 and you guys, it’s scary, and Lady Gaga is freaking amazing. Before the episode, she took to Instagram to share quite the revealing look at her character — cigarette, stockings, blood and all.

Now that Dandy (Finn Wittrock) has playthings to keep him company in the form of Bette and Dot (Sarah Paulson), he mellows for a hot second in “Bullseye.” However, it doesn’t last — nor does Elsa’s time in the spotlight following the twins’ “disappearance” as the camp becomes suspicious. In the Halloween episode of ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show,’ we learned that even murderous clowns have their tragic backstories. However, the show went way too far in redeeming Twisty The Clown while Jessica Lange’s Elsa got the shaft! SPOILERS for ‘Edward Mordrake Part 2’ below!
Every superhero has their origin story, and so, too, do parent-killing clowns. In “Edward Mordrake Part 2,” we saw a glimpse of Twisty The Clown’s backstory and his “reasons” for his transition from a carnival clown into a violent murderer. If nothing else, American Horror Story: Freak Show proves that Freaks: They’re Just Like Us. Everyone has their story, sure, but I think that the show went way too far in redeeming Twisty while simultaneously vilifying Elsa. SPOILERS for the Halloween episode below!
