Ronald Reagan (born Ronald Wilson Reagan on February 6, 1911 in Tampico, Illinois) was the 40th president of the United States, serving two terms from 1981 to 1989. Ronald was a college football star at Eureka College, and upon graduation became a sportscaster. After a successful screen test, he moved to Hollywood and became a wildly popular actor. He starred in 53 films over 20 years and was president of the Screen Actors Guild. He moved on to a career as a television host, spreading his conservative views. He was elected governor of California in 1967, serving two terms until 1971. He beat out Jimmy Carter to win the presidential office in 1981, bringing on George HW Bush as his VP. Only 69 days later, he was shot by a would-be assassin, but recovered quickly. He worked on a platform of “peace through strength” during the Cold War.

Personal Life:
President Reagan married actress Jane Wyman in 1940; they divorced in 1949. Together, they had two children, Maureen Reagan, who passed away in 2001, and Michael Reagan. He married Nancy Davis on March 4, 1952. They had two children together: son Ronald Reagan Jr. and daughter Patti Davis. President Reagan passed away on June 5, 2004 at the age of 93 after battling Alzheimer’s disease for 10 years.
