Macklemore (born Ben Haggerty in Seattle, Washington, on June 19 1983) is an American rapper and singer. He collaborates with producer Ryan Lewis, violinist Andrew Joslyn, and trumpeter Owuor Arunga. Macklemore’s and Ryan Lewis’ single “Thrift Shop” has been viewed on YouTube over 400 million times, and reached number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2013, selling more than 2.2 million copies.

Personal Life:
Macklemore is engaged to his girlfriend of seven years, Tricia Davis. Macklemore supports LGBT rights, including same-sex marriage and expressed his views in his single “Same Love”, which also condemns homophobia in mainstream hip hop, society and mass media.
