Chris Christie

Bio:
Chris Christie (born Christopher James Christie on September 6, 1962 in Newark, New Jersey) is an American politician. Chris’s family moved to Livingston, New Jersey, in wake of the 1967 Newark riots. Chris lived in Livingston until he graduated from Livingston High School. He attended the University of Delaware, graduating in 1984 with a Bachelor’s in Political Science. He completed his legal degree in 1987 from Seton Hall. He joined a law firm in 1987. He volunteered for President George H.W. Bush’s reelection campaign. Chris ran for the New Jersey General Assembly in 1995, but lost. In 2001, President George W. Bush appointed Chris the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey. During his tenure, Chris doubled the size of the state’s anti-corruption unit. He held the position until 2008. In 2009, Chris announced he would run for Governor of New Jersey. After winning the Republican primary, Chris was successfully elected as the state’s 55th governor. He was reelected in 2013. Though Chris was considered a possible candidate in the 2012 Presidential Election, he decided not to run. In 2013, two of the three traffic lanes in Fort Lee, New Jersey, leading to the George Washington Bridge were closed by one of his Senior aides as a form of political retribution. Though Chris was cleared of any wrongdoing, it damaged his personal image. In June 2015, Chris announced that he would run for President in the 2016 Elections.

Personal Life:
Chris married fellow University Delaware student Mary Pat Foster in 1986. They have two boys together. Though Chris is known for his weight, having once weight more than 300 pounds in 2012, he announced in 2013 that he had underwent weight loss surgery and successfully shed 40 pounds.
