The Creative Arts Primetime Emmys recognise technical and other achievements for the 2007-08 TV season and is widely considered to be a precursor to the main Emmys ceremony. At the event HBO led the networks with 16 awards, followed by ABC and PBS with 9 each. CBS earned eight awards and NBC took six. HBO’s historical miniseries “John Adams”, about the second U.S. president, was top winner on the night with eight awards. Critically acclaimed drama, “Mad Men,” which is set in the world of New York’s Madison Avenue advertising industry during the 1960s, was the second most celebrated program of the night, and the No. 1 series, with four awards. For the 10th year running “The Simpsons” was named best half-hour animated show.
