Representative Tim Ryan of Ohio announced on April 4 on ‘The View’ that he’s running for president in 2020 as a Democrat. He’s joining possibly the biggest field of candidates in a US election ever; he’s the 18th Democrat to announce they’re running against President Donald Trump. But now he faces the challenge of setting himself apart from the crowd. Ryan is running on the premise of “restoring the American Dream,” which he says President Trump destroyed.
