‘The Young & The Restless’ Cast Celebrating 50 Years — Cheers to the big 5-0! ‘The Young and the Restless’ is celebrating 50 years on the air. The beloved soap opera premiered in 1973 and has become a daytime staple ever since. Notable ‘Y&R’ stars assembled to celebrate the show’s momentous anniversary.

In addition to 50th-anniversary episode, a ‘Y&R’ news special will air March 27 on CBS. The special will be hosted by ‘Entertainment Tonight’s Nichelle Turner and will include footage and interviews with the ‘Y&R’ cast from the past 50 years. There will also be a behind-the-scenes studio tour and special remembrances to longtime cast members Jeanne Cooper and Kristoff St. John.
