Andrea Swift is Taylor Swift’s mother. She gave birth to the singer on Dec. 13, 1989, and has been an extremely supportive and motivational figure in Taylor’s career. When Taylor was a teenager, Andrea took her on trips to Nashville so that she could pitch her music to the execs on Music Row. Eventually, Taylor signed a record deal with Big Machine Records, and the family moved to Nashville. Taylor and Andrea have always been extremely close. In 2015, Taylor revealed that Andrea had been diagnosed with cancer. The disease returnd in 2019, and at the beginning of 2020, Taylor revealed more specifics about the disease. Andrea had been battling breast cancer, and doctors discovered a brain tumor while she was going through chemo for the second time.
