Tahar Rahim is an Algerian-French actor who is currently starring in the Netflix series ‘The Serpent,’ which debuted in the United States on April 2. He plays Charles Sobhraj in the series that’s inspired by true events. Jenna Coleman also stars in the show. In addition to ‘The Serpent,’ Tahar recently starred in the film ‘The Mauritanian’ and earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance. His breakout role was Malik in the 2009 French film ‘A Prophet.’ He won César Award for Best Actor and Most Promising Actor at the 2020 César Awards, which are France’s version of the Oscars. Tahar has also appeared in TV series like ‘The Looming Tower,’ ‘The Eddy,’ as well as several French films over the years. He is married to French-Algerian actress Leïla Bekhti.
