The term “supermodel” was thrown around here and there in the ’60s and ’70s, but the title wasn’t given to life until the runway queens Tyra Banks, 45, Christie Brinkley, 65, Naomi Campbell, 48, Cindy Crawford, 53, Christy Turlington, 50, Linda Evangelista, 53, Stephanie Seymour, 50, Amber Valletta, 45, Elle Macpherson, 55, Helena Christensen, 50, Paulina Porizkova, 54, Shalom Harlow, 45, and Claudia Schiffer, 48 (their ages as of 2019) arrived to dominate high-fashion runways in the ’80s, ’90s and aughts.

That “It girl” look hasn’t faded away decades later — some are still working magazine covers and fashion shows. Cindy just posed nude for Russell James’ book “Angels” in her 50s, while Stephanie was the last to walk a Versace show in Italy in Feb. 2019. Leaving their 20s and 30s didn’t mean work ended for these age-defying beauties!

Many of these legends have also segued into other industries. Tyra became her own boss by creating one of the most iconic reality television shows, “America’s Next Top Model,” while Christie became an entrepreneur by creating her own skincare line. We’re in constant awe of these women.

By 18, she was the first black woman to pose on the cover of French ‘Vogue’ and was one of the most in demand models to walk designer runways. She even landed an acting role in ‘Empire’ in 2015.

Cindy Crawford
