Steven Spielberg, born Dec. 18, 1946, is an American filmmaker known widely for his emotionally evocative movies. Steven broke onto the scene with his film ‘Jaws’ in 1975. The film went on to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars and Steven continued to build an incredibly successful career as a result. Steven is credited as the director for films such as ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind,’ ‘Indiana Jones,’ ‘E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial,’ and so many more. In 1993, everything changed for the filmmaker with the film ‘Schindler’s List.’ Steven’s lauded movie went on to win Best Picture at the Oscars in 1994 for his moving film about the Holocaust and subsequently won two Oscars – one of which was for directing. Since then, the filmmaker has gone on to make movies like ‘Lincoln,’ ‘The BFG,’ ‘Bridge of Spies,’ and ‘The Post’ and earned a slew of Oscar nominations along the way.
