Soledad O’Brien is an award-winning investigative journalist and former CNN anchor. Born and raised in New York, she is the daughter of an Afro-Latina mother from Cuba and a White father from Australia. The Harvard graduate worked her way up from local TV news to NBC, MSNBC and CNN.
During her time at CNN, Soledad worked on the critically acclaimed series, ‘Black in America’ and ‘Latino in America’ among other big stories. She now explores topics that spark her interest through her company, Soledad O’Brien Productions. They include the BET show, ‘Disrupt & Dismantle,’ which premiered on the network in 2021. She also produces and anchors the political magazine program, ‘Matter Of Fact with Soledad O’Brien.’
She is the recipient of numerous awards including an NAACP Image Award and two Emmys, both for her work on CNN. The keen rider lives in New York with her husband Bradley Raymond and their four children – Sofia, Cecilia, Jackson and Charles.
