Following in the footsteps of her older sister Beyoncé, Solange started her career as a backup dancer for Destiny’s Child, and then as a singer at the age of 16 when she signed to her father’s record label Mathew Knowles’s Music World Entertainment. She released her first studio album Solo Star in 2002. Her singing career has only continued to blossom, as she most recently won a GRAMMY for her hit single “Cranes In The Sky.”
Before she became a big R&B artist she dipped her toes in the movie scene. For those who forgot, the artist made her best one liners in teen hit ‘Bring It On: All or Nothing.’
Today, the star has been honored with the “Impact Award” at Billboard Women in Music as well as ranked by Billboard as the 100th most successful dance artist of all-time. In addition to being recognized for her music, she has been recognized for her sense of fashion.
