Reverend Raphael Warnock just made history. Warnock, a prominent pastor and activist, was elected to the US Senate in the highly contested Georgia senate runoff race on January 5, 2021. Warnock is the first Black senator from Georgia, the first Black senator from a former confederate state, and just the 11th Black senator in United States history. He campaigned on a platform of helping struggling Georgia families, as well as expanding Medicaid in the state.
Here, you can see Rev. Warnock speaking to voters at a campaign rally in Columbus, Georgia. He was joined at the December 21 event by Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and his fellow Georgia Democratic Senate candidate, Jon Ossoff. To see more photos of Rev.
