‘Night Stalker’ Series — Photos — Richard Ramirez’s heinous crimes are explored in the Netflix limited docuseries ‘Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer.’ The 4-part series reveals how one of the most notorious serial killers in American history was hunted down and brought to justice. Richard’s crime spree started in 1985 and scaled up and down the state of California. Richard didn’t have a specific type of victim, which made him even more terrifying. A young detective named Gil Carrillo from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the legendary homicide investigator Frank Salerno worked tirelessly to solve the case before someone lost their life. Richard was eventually captured in Aug. 1985 and spent the rest of his life in prison. He was convicted of all charges against him. He was sentenced to die in the gas chamber.
