Nicki Minaj first confirmed her romance with Kenneth Petty at the end of 2018, when she posted photos with him at her birthday party on Instagram. The two had known each other for years at this point, and had previously dated when the rapper was a teenager. However, they went their separate ways before reconnecting while they were both back in their mutual hometown for Thanksgiving 2018. Things moved very quickly for the pair, and Nicki was not shy about flaunting their love on social media. In summer 2019, they obtained their marriage license in Beverly Hills, and Nicki made it clear that she intended to be with Kenneth forever. They tied the knot that October, and welcomed their first child, a baby boy, in September 2020.
