‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ Cast Through The Years — The Portokalos family is back! My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 will be released in theaters on September 8. The film will feature the returns of fan-favorite cast members Nia Vardalos, John Corbett, Andrea Martin, Joey Fatone, and more. My Big Fat Greek Wedding made a big splash in 2002 and became a massive hit, earning more than $368 million at the box office.

The cast returned for the 2016 sequel. Now, the family is back for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, which will follow the Portokalos family on a trip to Greece for a family reunion after the death of Gus. Michael Constantine, who played Gus, sadly passed away in 2021. This time around, Nia is pulling triple duty as actor, director, and writer.

The My Big Fat Greek Wedding cast has remained close over the last 20 years. The crew is coming together for one last adventure. Take a look at photos of the cast then and now.

Nia Vardalos

Nia Vardalos — Nia Vardalos rose to fame playing Toula Portokalos in the first My Big Fat Greek Wedding movie in 2002. She also wrote the film and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. She returned for the sequel in 2016 and has appeared in several other films over the years. Seven years after My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Nia decided to write, direct, and star in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, which will be released on September 8.

As for her personal life, Nia married Ian Gomez in 1993. They adopted their daughter in 2008. They divorced in 2018.

John Corbett

John Corbett — John Corbett plays the handsome Ian Miller in the My Big Fat Greek Wedding universe. Around the same time as the first movie, John was appearing as Aidan Shaw in Sex and the City. John returned for the My Big Fat Greek Wedding sequel in 2016. Over the years, John has starred in countless films like Raising Helen, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, and more.

He notably played Seth in the family drama series Parenthood. He reprised his role as Dr. Dan Covey in XO, Kitty. In 2023, he made his triumphant return as Aidan Shaw in And Just Like That.

John started dating Bo Derek in 2002. They married in 2020.

Andrea Martin

Andrea Martin — The iconic Andrea Martin has played Aunt Voula in all three My Big Fat Greek Wedding movies. Andrea is an esteemed actress on both the stage and screen. She has won Tonys for her past projects.

She’s recently had a recurring role in the hit Hulu series Only Murders in the Building. She notably plays Sister Andrea in the TV series Evil. Andrea is back as Aunt Voula for the third My Big Fat Greek Wedding movie.

Lainie Kazan

Lainie Kazan — Lainie Kazan plays Maria Portokalos, Toula’s mom, in the My Big Fat Greek Wedding movies. She’ll be back for the third My Big Fat Greek Wedding movie. She’s had guest appearances on Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Fuller House, and more.

In between acting gigs, Lainie became an adjunct professor at UCLA. She was injured in a car accident in 2016.

Gia Carides

Gia Carides — Gia Carides plays the fierce Cousin Nikki in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. She returned for the 2016 sequel and the third film in the trilogy. Outside of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Gia notably played Melissa in Big Little Lies.

The actress was married to Anthony LaPaglia from 1998 to 2015. They have a daughter together.

Joey Fatone

Joey Fatone — Joey Fatone showed off his acting skills in 2002’s My Big Fat Greek Wedding as Cousin Angelo. He reprised the role in the TV spinoff My Big Fat Greek Life and the 2016 sequel. He’s back for the third movie as well.

Joey is best known for being a member of the boy band NSYNC. He also came in second place during Dancing With the Stars season 4. He hosted Family Feud from 2010 to 2015, as well as other shows across networks. Joey recently played himself in a 2023 episode of How I Met Your Father.

Louis Mandylor

Louis Mandylor — Louis Mandylor has played Nick Portokalos, Toula’s brother, since the first movie. The Australian actor also reprised his role in the TV spinoff and sequel. Louis has had countless roles across TV and film since My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Prior to his return in the third movie, Louis played Mickey Cohen in an episode of the Paramount+ series The Offer.

Elena Kampouris

Elena Kampouris — Elena Kampouris joined the My Big Fat Greek Wedding family in the 2016 sequel. She plays Paris Miller, Toula and Ian’s daughter. In addition to My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 and the upcoming third movie, Elena notably played Minnow Bly in the TV series Sacred Lies and Chloe Sampson in Jupiter’s Legacy.
