‘Murder Mystery’

They play bumbling NTPD detective Nick Spitz and wife Audrey who after 15 years of marriage decide to bring some heat back by heading on romantic European vacation. When Jen’s character meets a dashing English tycoon in the aircraft’s lounge, he ends up inviting the couple to vacation aboard a yacht off the French Riviera. The rest of the passengers are made up of either rich or famous glitterati, leaving the dowdy Americans out of place. When an elderly billionaire is murdered aboard the yacht, the rest of the passengers point the finger at Nick and Audrey, who are innocent. They end up going on the run while hunted down by the real killer/killers, then grow the confidence to try to take down the true murderer. Aniston and Sandler starred together in the 2011 comedy ‘Just Go With It’ and had been looking to work together again, picking ‘Murder Mystery’ as the project that would re-team them.
