Melissa Barrera is a Mexican actress who starred in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s new movie ‘In The Heights.’ She plays Vanessa alongside Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Leslie Grace, Jimmy Smits, and more. Prior to ‘In The Heights,’ Melissa was known for her role as Lyn in the STARZ series ‘Vida.’ The critically-acclaimed show ran from 2018 to 2020. She also starred in several telenovelas. Melissa went on to star in ‘Scream’ (2022) and ‘Scream VI’ (2023) before famously being fired from ‘Scream VII’ for 2023 social media comments on the Israel-Hamas conflict.
