She never ended up going to prison for the the brutal killings, as she was not among the four family members sent by the cult leader to carry out the murders. She was just a teenager when she met Manson and went to live on his ranch. in 1975 she would goto prison after a failed assassination attempt on then-President Gerald Ford outside the State Capitol in Sacramento, CA. She was paroled in 2009. In a 2019 interview with ABC News she claimed to still love the late cult leader, who died in prison of natural causes on Nov. 19, 2017 “I don’t think you fall out of love,” she said. “I feel very honoured to have met him, and I know how that sounds to people who think he’s the epitome of evil,” she told the network.
