Lil Uzi Vert (née Symere Bysil Woods) was born July 31, 1994 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He’s an American rapper, singer, and songwriter, who’s also known for his unique face tattoos, facial piercings, outspoken hairstyles and diverse fashion. He first gained notoriety after the release of his commercial mixtape Luv Is Rage in 2015, which led to him landing a recording contract with Atlantic Records. Uzi went on to drop three mixtapes — Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World in 2016, and two additional mixtapes in 2016 and 2017. Uzi entered the the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time for his feature on Migos’ hit single “Bad and Boujee”. He later secured his first top ten single with “XO Tour Llif3”, which won the MTV Video Music Award for Song of Summer. The track was the lead single to Uzi’s debut studio album Luv Is Rage 2, which released in 2017, and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and went certified double platinum. Uzi was later nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy at the 2018 awards show. In 2020, he dropped his second studio album, Eternal Atake. In late 2020, Uzi promoted new singles on social media and announced multiple projects.
