Josh Segarra For HollywoodLife — Josh Sergarra is an American actor, best known for his breakthrough role on Broadway as Emilio Estefan in On Your Feet! On television, Josh was also beloved on the shows Arrow, Siren and The Electric Company. The actor can currently be seen in Netflix’s AJ and the Queen, created by RuPaul and Michael Patrick King. In the show, Josh stars as Hector, the boyfriend of RuPaul’s Ruby Red, who is both super handsome and really mischevious. The 10-episode series has already been met with rave reviews from viewers. Outside of his acting career, which also includes TV credits on The Other Two and Chicago P.D., Josh is married to Brace Rice, and the couple shares two beautiful sons!

On Working With RuPaul — “I got to see him in a light where he wanted to do well. I wanted to do well. We both wanted to be prepared, and we both wanted to make MPK happy. We just wanted to make sure he was happy with what we were doing. I just wanted to do a good job for him. I wanted to make sure that every time they gave me the ball I’d run as hard, and as fast as I could, and not fumble it. I think we created something special, me and him.”

On Season 2 Of ‘The Other Two’ — “I love Lance so much. He’s a character that I like jumping into, because he’s not worried about nothing! Every time I read any script and I saw a new shoe design idea that he had, it always makes me laugh. We start filming season 2 in February, and we’re going to keep hanging with that family.”

On Another The Possibility For Another ‘Moodys’ — “I think there’s a world in which we’re going to be able to hang out with the Moody’s a lot! So we met them at Christmas, but I know that maybe we can hang out with them on Easter of next year, or I know there’s a wedding that’s supposed to be happening soon for uncle. So it could be maybe a Moody wedding, and we get to go somewhere fun, or it could be a Moody Thanksgiving and we get to do that.”

On Working With Michael Patrick King — “Michael Patrick King was incredible. MPK, he just knows what he’s doing and he’s such a giving director and writer that I never felt like I was floundering. Sometimes in characters you feel a little bit, there’s a term, you feel egg-y. You feel with egg on your face, and that means that you just feel like you’re kind of just standing vulnerable, and you’re not delivering anything and nothing’s happening — And MPK was always so good about coming in, and if I felt anything he would just be like, ‘Hey, that was a version. Cool. Let’s try this version now.'”
