Former President Jimmy Carter is a father to four and a grandfather and great-grandfather to many more. Check out photos of him and his family here.
Jimmy Carter was elected as the 39th President Of The United States during the 1976 election. Prior to running for national office, he was elected as the Governor of Georgia in 1971. By his side through his entire political career was his wife Rosalynn Carter, and his four children: Jack, Chip, Jeff, and Amy.
After losing his re-election campaign, Jimmy and Rosalynn dedicated themselves to advocacy and have been strong humanitarian advocates since he left office. The former president and his wife launched the Carter Center in 1982, and the organization has worked to help people around the globe, since it formed.
With all of their children (and even some of their grandchildren) all grown up, the former president and first lady are loving grandparents and great-grandparents to 22 youngsters.
The Carter Center announced that Jimmy would receive hospice care after a series of health issues in a statement in February 2023, revealing that he would spend time with his family.
