Fans of quiz shows have been delighted by ‘Jeopardy’ for decades. Through the years, since its inception in 1964, ‘Jeopardy’ has routinely set records and made history with its competitive episodes and often obscure trivia. In 2004, Ken Jennings broke records by winning a consecutive 74 shows, finally being beat out at his 75th match. And in January of 2020, ‘Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time’ event brought together James Holzhauer, Jennins, and Brad Rutter in a high stakes televised competition hosted by Alex Trebek.
But despite the victories, the show has also endured heartbreak — its beloved longtime host, Alex Trebek, died of pancreatic cancer in late 2020, leaving hosting duties to Jennings and Mayim Bialik, who ultimately left the show in December of 2023.
