Steve Burton and Chad Duell on ‘General Hospital’ — Plenty of hunks got their start on ABC’s venerable soap opera ‘General Hospital.’ The soap is the only one left standing on ABC’s daytime lineup in 2020. It launched the career of such well known TV stars as John Stamos and rocker Rick Springfield. It also became a place for many actors to call home for years on the beloved show based in the fictional Port Charles, New York. We’ve got 10 show hunks and where they are today.

Some stars such as Steve Burton played beloved characters, only to depart for other soaps. He left his role as Jason Morgan in 2012 after 11 years on the show, and went on to portray Dylan McAvoy on CBS’ soap ‘The Young and the Restless from 2013 to 2017.’ But he wanted to come back to ‘General Hospital,’even though actor Billy Miller had been recast in Steve’s role. As a result, they brought Steve back as Jason and made Billy’s character Drew Cain, Jason’s long-lost twin.

Some stars have departed for prime time roles. Several years after leaving ‘General Hospital,” John Stamos landed the role of Uncle Jesse on the ABC sitcom ‘Full House.” Jonathan Jackson — who won five Daytime Emmys as Lucky Spencer on GH — left the show and went on to star on ABC’s musical drama Nashville for five years, even following the show when it moved to CMT.
