The 007 franchise has its fair share of famous names and faces. Dr. No. Francisco Scaramanga, The Man With The Golden Gun. Oddjob. Perhaps the most famous character to ever take on James Bond – at least, the most famous of the ‘Bond Girls’ – is none other than Pussy Galore, portrayed by the late Honor Blackman. Yet, before she attempted to help Auric Goldfinger rob Fort Knox in 1964’s ‘Goldfinger,’ Honor was on her way to pop culture stardom. Alongside Patrick Macnee’s John Steed, Honor played Cathy Gale, the leather-clad, martial arts expert on the British television series, ‘The Avengers.’ She left the series for ‘Goldfinger,’ and her star would continue to shine afterwards. Honor would appear on such British television staples as ‘Doctor Who’ (playing Professor Lasky) and ‘Coronation Street.’ She was also politically active, campaigning for further direct democracy in Britain. Twice married and twice divorced, Honor passed away on April 5. She was surrounded by her family.
